My chawans are hand-formed using pinching techniques, which make it easier to identify one’s style. The material is unprocessed clay, which I personally handcrafted to ensure the correct firing temperature. For firing, I use a wood-fired kiln, which creates a natural glaze through the firing process at temperatures between 1400 to 1500 degrees Celsius, giving the hand-formed chawans a lively and unique character.

The chawan offers a rush of emotions when you are holding it in your hands. It's a vessel that is an integral part of life, of enjoying life.I am participating in the exhibition with a spout bowl set and will be demonstrating cold tea service. The tea is first brewed in a spouted chawan, then poured into a chawan full of ice to quickly chill the tea. The tea cools you from the mouth to the heart, making it most fitting for the summer. I hope that Taiwanese chawans can lead introduce a new way of drinking tea.
